ABOUT US
Waukegan Steel Sales, Inc. was founded in 1929, as Ferro Steel. In our first year, we fabricated and shipped 10 tons of steel. In 2008, we will ship 4,800 tons of steel and annual sales will top $30 million.
We are a certified fabricator of the American Institute for Steel Construction to do complex structures. This means we have the capacity to fabricate steel and are reviewed every year to maintain our certification. We are also a member or the Central Fabricator Association.
The primary market for Waukegan Steel is the metropolitan Chicago area. Our work is contracted in heavy and light structural steel and is supplemented with miscellaneous metals including stairs, handrails and ladders.
Waukegan Steel Sales, Inc. has handled projects including the renovation and expansion of Soldier Field, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, University of Illinois at Chicago and the refurbishing of many elevated train stations for the Chicago Transit Authority.
Our company has received many awards including, Turner Construction's Outstanding Performance Award in 2003 and a similar award from Gilbane construction in 2005.
